About Photo Blogging

Photo blogging is journalism. Let me explain.

Photo blogging is a journalistic endeavor that captures news and events as photographs and publishes these images telling a news story in the format of a blog.

Here are key definitions excerpted from wikipedia:

Photojournalism is journalism that uses images to tell a news story. Photojournalism is distinguished from other close branches of photography by having a rigid ethical framework which demands an honest but impartial approach that tells a story in strictly journalistic terms. Photojournalists contribute to the news media, and help communities connect with one other. They must be well-informed and knowledgeable, and are able to deliver news in a creative manner that is both informative and entertaining.

Similar to a writer, a photojournalist is a reporter, but they must often make decisions instantly and carry photographic equipment, often while exposed to significant obstacles, among them immediate physical danger, bad weather, large crowds, and limited physical access to their subjects.

A photoblog is a form of photo sharing and publishing in the format of a blog. It differs from a blog through the predominant use of and focus on photographs rather than text.

EZShow.me‘s photo blogging work is creative intellectual work carried out at the blogger’s own direction, discretion, effort, expense, and initiative. It is not ‘work made for hire’.

On occasions, this blogger covers events with the explicit permission of the event Organizer. The event Organizer is responsible for obtaining permission from others involved in the event to allow the blogger to take photographs at the event.

Copyright of the photographs (Content) is retained by the blogger. As customarily granted by US Copyright Law. Excerpted from https://www.copyright.gov/engage/photographers/

First, copyright protects original works of authorship, including original photographs. A work is original if it is independently created and is sufficiently creative. Creativity in photography can be found in a variety of ways and reflect the photographer’s artistic choices like the angle and position of subject(s) in the photograph, lighting, and timing. As a copyright owner, you have the right to make, sell or otherwise distribute copies, adapt the work, and publicly display your work.

Kaushiki’s music

We thoroughly enjoyed Kaushiki Chakraborty’s music, accompanied by Tanmay Deochake (harmonium), Sandip Ghosh (tabla) and Murad Ali Khan (sarangi). She performed completely different raags in the performances in Boston and New Jersey. Here are pictures from the New Jersey concert.
